FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)
Bunkhouses provide the unique opportunity of allowing large groups to get together in unique and stunning locations, at an affordable cost and with exclusive hire.
Traditional hotels and B&B’s charge £80 + per person per night on average whereas Skirfare Barn costs from just £16 per person per night (based on a group of 20), and you get the exclusive hire of the building to yourself.
To keep overhead costs low, you are provided with comfortable bunkbeds where you supply your own bedding. You are required to leave the bunkhouse cleaned, tidy and in the same condition as you find it.
By agreeing to our terms and conditions and tidy-up bond terms and completing them fully ensures we can continue to keep costs low for everyone.
Our bunkbeds all come with memory foam mattresses, and delux pillows. We also have four single beds to ensure all options are available.
Sleeping bags and duvets can be hired upon request - contact us
We ask for a deposit to secure your dates, and the balance to be paid 6 weeks before arrival (plus a further, refundable security deposit).

Access to the barn from the car park is wheelchair accessible, with the bedrooms and one shower room on the ground floor.
However, the lounge and kitchen area are up a single flight of stairs on the first floor without any lift access.
Of course, that's what we are all about.
We will accept a maximum of 3 dogs on site at a cost of £15 each per booking.
These are accepted strictly on the understanding and full agreement that they are NOT to be left alone at any time in the barn, and all waste must be cleaned from the grounds.
Dogs found on the premises without express permission will be asked to leave and a cleanup charge will be taken from the bond.
Skirfare Barn is not ideally suited for larger groups than 20 people.
If you're planning a small, intimate ceremony/event then we do have the option to partner with the group accommodation site next door, to provide a more comprehensive facility for up to 60 people.
We welcome discussing your plans to see if we can accommodate you - please contact us.
Skirfare Barn is NOT a party venue. Company, summer parties etc are not accepted.
Our barn is perfectly set to enjoy a group get together where all members treat and respect the building as you would your own home.
Our default position is that we do not accept party groups (as above), however we are the first people to acknowledge that every group is different.
We are willing to discuss your plans, and sensible groups that will respect our property will be considered.
Groups of exclusively under 25 yrs old will not be.
The Barn is insured and has fire regulations for a maximum of 20 people on site. This includes anybody in the grounds.
If you have guests arriving then you must ensure your total number does not exceed this at any point.
As we are within the Yorkshire Dales National Park, our planning permission does not provide for tents or caravans/motorhomes etc.
We are also not insured for such facilities, and therefore have no choice but to prohibit them.
The Tennants Arms is a 10 min walk along the road from the barn.
